Shouting Is Funny consists of Christian Powlesland and Harvey Badger.

 

We are an audio production company, creating original audio fiction. We formed the company in 2020, but we've been working together closely since 2018, after meeting on the Actor-Musicianship BA Honours degree at Rose Bruford College in London, UK.

Upon graduating Rose Bruford in the midst of a global pandemic, we decided to put our focus into something creative that we could pursue from home. Shouting Is Funny was born. What inspired the name, you ask? In our early days of creating 'comedy', we did indeed believe that shouting was all it took. We like to think we've matured since then, if only slightly.

 

Over the last two years, we've been hard at work developing our debut series 'The Chronicles of Wild Hollow'. We launched with 'The Boursin Trilogy' in April 2021. Our second release, 'The Gray Trilogy' launched in May/June 2022, and a mini-series called 'Wild Hollow Shorts' launched across 2022/23, with monthly releases. We are currently developing the third main instalment, 'Highperion Day', which is due to release in 2024.

In August 2021 we were awarded 'Best Audio Drama' and 'Best Mixing' at the Indie PopCon Podcast Awards. In March 2022, we were shortlisted for The Society of Author's 'Imison Award', presented at the BBC Audio Drama Awards 2022. In July 2023, we were shortlisted for Hörspielsommer's International Audio Drama Competition in Leipzig. In August 2023, we were awarded 'Best Podcast Director' at the Series Web Awards in Lima. In October 2023, we were shortlisted for 'Best Fiction Podcast' and 'Best Podcast Artwork' at the inaugural Independent Podcast Awards in London.
